Static electricity is an imbalance of electric charges within or on the surface of a material.
The other differences between the static and current electricity are explained below. Static electricity can occur in both conductors and insulators but current electricity cannot occur in. This type of electricity is used when you turn on the tv or the lights. There is always a magnetic field associated with current electricity but there cannot be a magnetic field in static electricity.
Static electricity is caused by the build up of electrical charges on the surface of objects while current electricity is a phenomenon from the flow of electrons along a conductor. Static electricity is induced due to the movement of negative charges from one object to another. It is a type of electricity that results due to the flow of electrons across a conductor. Electric charges moving through the wire conducts electricity.
Current electricity is provided by batteries to operate gadgets and devices. Current electricity consists of flowing charges whereas static electricity consists of stationary charges. The main difference between static and current electricity is that the term static electricity refers to situations where there is an excess of charges in a region without there being a net flow of charge whereas current electricity refers to cases where there is a net flow of charge in response to a potential difference. Whereas in current electricity the electrons are moving inside the conductor.

What is the difference between current electricity and static electricity. The movement is a loop from the negative terminal to the positive and is simply the movement of electrons within a conductor. When objects are rubbed a loss and or gain of electrons occurs which results in the phenomenon of static electricity.
