A group is only a team when their tasks and their achievements are intertwined.

The group members do not share responsibility but team members share the responsibility. A team is a group but not every group is a team. Simply calling a group a team does not make it true. A group is a collection of individuals who coordinate their individual efforts.

There is only one head in a group. A team allows for better syncing of efforts streamlining of the organization and better risk management. A team is understood to be a group wherein thought goes into its formation. A teams accomplishes things and do better under a lot more pressure stress and circumstance than a group.

The group focuses on achieving the individual goals. A group are individuals who come together to perform a specific task whereas a team is a collection of people who are interdependently committed on each other to achieve a goal in a task. All teams are groups but not all groups are teams. A group is defined as several individuals who may coordinate their efforts towards something but are not necessarily working towards a specific goal.
