Potential risks of distilled water while distilled water is the purest type of water it s not necessarily healthiest.
By andrew french updated december 12 2018. Distillation is not effective if the water is from a hazardous site or has been contaminated from a hazardous wastewater spill. Regular water is a thirst quencher and has a peculiar taste as opposed to distilled water. When applied to water the word sterile means that there are no viable able to reproduce bacteria viruses or any other type of viable microorganism present.
The distillation process is very effective at removing potentially harmful. Sterility is a property of water while distilled water is the type of water produced by the distillation process of water treatment. Finally filtered water has most of the minerals that are suitable for daily drinking. The main difference between the two is that purified water doesn t necessarily get rid of all of the healthy minerals that can be found in water which isn t the case with distilled water.
Regular water is the type of water that contains lots of minerals and impurities that may include germs or bacteria whereas distilled water is free from all such impurities. Contrary to filtered water distilled water is stripped of essential minerals such as calcium and magnesium. It s also important to understand that the process of distilling water consumes a significant amount of energy which means that it s somewhat harmful to the environment.
