Convection and radiation are both mechanisms of heat transfer. In the process of conduction heat transfer from a hot body to the cold body due to free electrons in convection heat transfer due to the actual movement of molecules while in radiation heat transfer in the form of electromagnetic waves. The heat transfer takes place due to the difference in temperature. Radiation on the other hand does not require a medium energy is transmitted through space.
Conduction occurs in solids while convection occurs in liquids. The main difference between conduction convection and radiation is conduction is nothing but the heat transfer from the hotter part to the colder one. In conduction this happens through direct physical contact between two objects. The main difference between convection and radiation is that convection is a mechanism of heat transfer which involves a mass flow of material.
In conduction heat transfer takes place between objects by direct contact. Radiation occurs when heat travels through empty space. Convection is the heat transfer by up and down motion of the fluid. In radiation heat transfer occurs through electromagnetic waves without involving particles.
