What Is The Difference Between Ai And Machine Learning
Olivia Luz
Ai is a bigger concept to create intelligent machines that can simulate human thinking capability and behavior whereas machine learning is an application or subset of ai that allows machines to learn from data without being programmed explicitly.
Ai would be the larger russian doll and machine learning would be a smaller one fitting entirely inside it. Machine learning at its most basic is the practice of using algorithms to parse data learn from it and then make a determination or prediction about something in the world. They have learnt not memorized the answer. Machine learning has become the fastest growing subset of ai.
The aim is to increase chance of success and not accuracy. But it is not the only approach machine learning is an approach to archive artificial intelligence. In other words all machine learning is ai but not all ai is machine learning. And machine learning is a current application of ai based.
A way to visualize the difference between ai and machine learning is by imagining a set of russian nesting dolls. Ai stands for artificial intelligence where intelligence is defined acquisition of knowledge intelligence is defined as a ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Artificial intelligence is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a way that we would consider smart. Machine learning is the enabler for ai allowing the programs to constantly learn and tweak their own algorithms to get better over time.
