What Is The Difference Between A Monkey And An Ape

In fact many people today will refer to apes as monkeys and vice versa.

The main difference between monkey and ape is that monkeys have a tail whereas apes do not have a tail. There are definite differences between the two though. Before looking at differences it s important to know that apes and monkeys are both primates. An easier way to tell the difference is that most monkeys have tails whereas no single ape has one.

Their bodies are different in other ways too. Apes and monkeys mostly eat fruits leaves and other plant material but they will also eat insects eggs and sometimes meat.
