There are 3 main types of colorblindness. However it is extremely rare to be totally color blind. Tritanopia makes you unable to tell the difference between blue and green purple and red and yellow and pink. Your eyes see differences in the light that comes in.
Color blindness also known as color vision deficiency is the decreased ability to see color or differences in color. In actuality the vast majority of people with color blindness do see color but they see a much narrower range of color. It is estimated that a person with normal color vision can see up to 1 million distinct shades of color but a person who is color blind may see as few as just 10 thousand colors 1 of the normal range. In fact they say they re color blind meaning they don t even see race.
What a blind person can see depends a great deal on how much vision they have. You also may not be able to see shades of the same or similar colors. They ll be the first to tell you they don t have a racist bone in their body and they don t care if you re white black purple or blue etc. But a person with low vision may be able to see not only.

Many people believe that anyone labeled as color blind is only able to see the colors of black and white. It s a bit like the way we hear sounds as being low or high. Research suggests that color blindness is most prevalent in caucasian males. It also makes colors look less bright.
