As with other higher vertebrates the human nervous system has two main parts.
The central nervous system the brain and spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system the nerves that carry impulses to and from the central nervous system. The human nervous system. The central nervous system cns which consists of the brain and the spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system pns which consists of nerves and small concentrations of gray matter called ganglia. In humans the brain is especially large and well developed.
