It S Not What You Say It S How You Say It

On language and class 08 06 2014 09 03 pm et updated oct 06 2014 passing by columbia university on broadway and amsterdam on my morning stroll to work i noticed a flyer tacked to a lamp post as i waited to cross the street.
It s not only what you say but how you say it. Again it s all about how you say it. At the same time it s employing a conceptual metaphor with the notion of something disappearing. What disappears as soon as you say its name.
As you gain control of your facial expression you can make it match what you are thinking feeling or saying. As younger generations discover all that speech has to offer they claim its expressivity for their own with new words being created in schools up and down the country. Okay here it is. To some this just isn t proper speech the same people who would have standard speech whatever that might be taught across the uk and internationally.
What disappears as soon as you say its name. A riddle is back. How you say things is more about how you feel than what you think. If you negate a frame you strengthen a frame.

Countless studies show that people respond much more to how you say what you say rather than the actual words that you re speaking. The answer seems so simple but not until you ve figured it out. If people have trouble relating to you or respecting you chances are you re not as self aware as you think you are. In other words if you say don t think of an elephant you can t help but think of one.
